On February 25, 2020, the President of the City of Toruń, Michał Zaleski, and the director of the European Film Center CAMERIMAGE, Kazimierz Suwała, jointly signed a notarized deed of donation, formally donating land in Toruń's Jordanki area for the construction of the Center. The signing of the notarial deed is a consequence of the unanimous decision of the Toruń City Council of October 10, 2019.

The value of the transferred land, consisting of three geodesic plots with a total area of 18,476 m2, is estimated at PLN 23.4 million and is located in the vicinity of the Jordanki Cultural and Congress Center, the Marshal's Office of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship and the "Znaki Czasu" Center of Contemporary Art in Toruń.

The seat of ECF CAMERIMAGE will have a total area of 35,000-38,000 m2, including a multi-storey garage and technical rooms. According to the initial assumptions, the building will accommodate three entertainment and projection rooms of various capacities, market and exhibition spaces, conference and seminar rooms, a film studio, dressing rooms, offices for employees of the institution, as well as restaurant and utility areas.

After a positive opinion on the city's investment plans by the Toruń City Council and the inclusion of the investment in the long-term government plan, which is to take place by the end of June 2020, an architectural competition for the design of the building will be announced. According to the initial plans, the construction works are to start in the fourth quarter of 2022, and the building is to be commissioned in the second half of 2025.
